Executive Authority
The Board of Education shall exercise its executive power in part by the appointment of a Superintendent as Chief School Administrator, who shall enforce the statutes of the State of New Jersey, rules of the State Board of Education, and policies of this Board.
The Superintendent shall prepare regulations for the administration of the school district that are not inconsistent with statutes or rules of the State Board of Education and are dictated by the policies of this Board. Administrative regulations shall require Board approval prior to promulgation and shall be binding on the employees of this district and the pupils in the schools of this district upon approval.
The Superintendent shall be delegated the authority to take necessary action in circumstances not governed by Board policy and shall report any such action to the Board at the first Board meeting following the action.
In accordance with New Jersey Statutes, the Superintendent is a non-voting ex-officio member of the Board and shall have the right to speak on all matters at meetings of the Board.
